Name Wars

We have a few suggestions of names for our Collaborative Workspace and invite you to let us know your preference by voting on the blog survey or by leaving a comment on this post (now closed). Current choices:

  • Spectra - an array of entities, a broad range of varied but related ideas or objects, the features of which tend to overlap to form a continuous sequence or series.
  • Iris - messenger of the gods, regarded as Goddess of the Rainbow.
  • Mahitahi - co-operate, collaborate, work as one.
  • Te Wahi Hononga - which, can be used to describe the creation of relationships and working together, or bringing different people together for a common purpose.

I vote for Mahitahi.

Mahitahi is a town in Te Tai-Poutini, so that name belongs in the south. There is also Mahitahi, the Project Assistance Agency of the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference, and in south Auckland, Mahitahi Trust services for hauora Māori.
I voted for Te Wāhi Hononga; maybe it's a little more prosaic, but it hasn't already been given to something else.
